This is a 1940s Italian compact. The compact is silver etched with a diagonal pattern, which I think has been done by hand. The clasp is 18 ct Gold, there are 8 Turquiose stones surrounded in 18ct Gold flower bezels. It was rather dirty when I bought it, so I cleaned it with some soap and water, I didn't want the compact squeaky clean, I have left it slightly tarnished.
There are marks for Sterling and 750 and another Mark I can't make out probably a makers mark.
It's approx 9 1/2 cm long and 6 cm wide and weighs approx 100 grams. It is in good condition.
