This little 6-1/2" tall Goldberg vase was very dirty when it came to me, but happily, after a wash and some going over with a soapy damp sponge, it looked in almost pristine condition again. Sklo42 has a lovely example of a Goldberg vase with the same kind of enameled orchid (a Miltonia, or Pansy orchid) on it, so I wanted to share this one for her, too. :)

Well you know I'm going to love this, Michelle. This is a very elegant shape and the placing of the main flower emphasises this. Lovely!

Thanks, Peggy - I did have a feeling you'd like it! :) I love to see the range of flowers that were done in this style. I have also seen carnations, small crocus-like flowers, and a tulip, but by far the most commonly seen are iris. I'll have to send you some of the more unusual examples I have collected images of.

I have a floral vase which is the same color, finish, and decor quality as this. (I just saw this; I know it's old) Mine is about 28cm or so.

So there is a "series" with different flowers? I suppose the "series" or line could be called "The Goldberg Variations", then, right? (YES , I had to...lol)

Hi wagesofzin, yes. quite a few different flowers were used; I had to laugh at your Goldberg joke! :) The vast majority are iris, done in the same soft colors, but I have also seen lilies, wild roses (five petaled), a tulip, carnations, and a few other flowers depicted, too. I have a few examples posted here on CW, as does sklo42.

Here are two iris vases of mine: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/156032-tiny-goldberg-enameled-iris-vase and http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/137311-carl-goldberg-enameled-iris-vase
