So my local jewelry seller, or as I refer to her my supplier and enabler, lol, had a few bits and pieces for me last week, amongst them this cufflink. I thought it was a fantasy piece, even though she kept insisting it was a real coin. When I looked at the back, well it does seem to be a real coin. I think the front says Carolus and there's some other lettering then Rex, and the year 1788. From what I've found on the Interwebz, it's a Spanish/Mexican coin called a Real? Don't know if it's worth anything, especially in this condition, and converted into a cufflink. Any information greatly appreciated. I thought it was a handsome piece in any case, would have loved to have the set. I hope you enjoyed seeing it, and thanks for looking.
