Here's a redo to "original 1930's style" from a wonderful necklace I recently found online. I liked that necklace that shows each bead w/filigree brass caps (pic 3, 1980's stripe beads next to 1920's glass flower beads?!) Someone made a very nice redo and in a more wearable 22" length - but it bothered me that it wasn't a true example of 30's celluloid so I restrung it with old wood, bronze beads and clasp from my 30's stash.

You're not obsessed but talented!I like the beads in "brass caps" :-).This whispered me the answer how to describe my necklace with similar "caps".Would you be so kind ,Mary, and help me with ID ing it?

Thanks Kyra - nice of you to say. At least all of the beads are from the 1930's, and for some reason that was bugging me about this. :)

Hi Karen - well....believe me I love ALL jewelry - and I make a lot from stones, beads, gemstones, found objects etc. that I don't post on CW because they don't fit our CW world. For some reason I prefer these old beads to be close to original.

Thank you Share for your nice comment. You get it since you enjoy reworking beads and jewels too.

Thank you Newtimes! When I was taking this picture a neighbor came by and said - "nice what is that?" - Celluloid beads from the 1930's. Then he replied "oh you mean animal fat?" Which kinda threw me and I didn't have a smarty-pants know-it-all response like I usually do - to this neighbor who knows NOTHING about old jewelry except he knows something I don't. Anyway, I have to do some research to bring my collection of celluloid beauties a better reputation. LOL
