An interesting Standard Band and Shortwave Band floor radio, made in Montreal, Canada sometime between 1916-1932 according to the original list of patents label still attached inside the cabinet, and likely 1932 (or later) based on the "WARNING" label in the 4th photo. Maybe someone with more knowledge about these radios can pinpoint the date for me.

The cabinet appears to be in solid undamaged condition although it definitely needs to be refinished. The speaker grill fabric is mint, but it's missing a Bakelite knob.

The radio tubes power up but I can't get any sound. For the $10 purchase cost at a yard sale it might be worth investing a bit more to get it working, although I couldn't imagine listening to popular music with it - may have to conceal an MP3 player loaded with period music inside the cabinet!

I've shown the radio to a local tube electronics aficionado who thinks it's repairable but he also thought the orange Warning Label might be more valuable than the radio itself... says he's never seen anything like it before: a $50 penalty or 3 months in prison for operating this radio without a valid license - imagine that!

And I never produced that Private Radio Receiving Licence (which I don't have) to the seller/vendor when I purchased it, which means they're also open to prosecution!

$50 bucks or three months in jail... decisions, decisions.

I have a radio given to me by my dad that is almost identical to this one. The model number though is C8-15. It also has that warning label on it and works. Could anyone tell me its approximate value of the radio and or warning label, because I would like to know if it is worth paying someone to restore it.

The value of anything is subjective and based on what someone is willing to pay for it. It my case I paid CDN$10 and that seemed like a good value to me.
