I have a Mibro Solingen Germany knife. Number 836 on the blade .
Antler handle . I'm going nuts looking for some info on it .
Anyone have any ideas , or info ?
Was given to me by my late brother ..

Has grooves on both sides and top edge is straight bottom edge looks like this pic
The reason it is probably driving you nuts, is this "MILBRO" on your knife stands for "Millard Brothers". They were a distributor, (not manufacturer), of many things, including sporting goods. They were based in London England in the early 1900's. Here is a link to maybe help jump start your search to the actual company that made your knife, in Germany. Good Luck!

Thanks frisco . I explored some more on the links you sent and you have solved the MILBRO puzzle for me , but still can't find my knife anywhere.
Perhaps my brother left it to me when he died knowing it would drive me nuts
Your Welcome Justaman57! PS: If you want to pursue this, and find the actual maker of your knife, here is what I suggest you do: 1.) Take some real good pictures of your knife, showing all the markings, and the scale, or sizes of it. 2.) Contact customer service at Milbro, as it seems they are still in business, and see what they can tell you, if anything. 3.) Contact Bernard Levine, and for a fee, he will give you all you want to know about your knife, "if he knows it". I have added 3 more links for you below. if this knife is stainless steel, it was made before 1958.
I have a very similar knife posted. mine is for sure stainless.
