This silver set includes the coffee pot, tea pot, sugar bowl and tray (no creamer). It belonged to my Aunt who lived in Munich for decades after the end of WWII. Not only is it stamped "HANDARBEIT", but the handcraft is exquisite. The added lip on the spouts is a beautiful touch, as are the elegant scrolls at the top of the tea and coffee handles. The knobs on the lids is a simple floral design which works effectively with the scroll. The edge of the tray has a beautiful hand hammered texture.
The hallmark is a sun (rising/setting?) placed low within a circle, rays extending upward, with "L & Co." in the center of the circle. The number to the left of the hallmark is 3390, and to the right is 800 with a crescent moon and another mark.
Can anyone tell me anything about this piece, the maker, or speculate on the value?
