The Japanese glass industry started making perfume bottles for the West around the late 1920s, and by the 1950s there was quite a lot exported.

The Japanese made a whole range of bottles like this moulded glass type to very ornately cut crystal bottles.
I don't know all of the companies that made them, however it seems Hirota Glass made some of these moulded ones, and Hoya and Sasaki both made cut crystal bottles.

Many carry this blue and silver sticker from IRICE, or I W Rice and Company, a New York based importer that has specialised in importing perfume bottles from all over the world since the 1920s.

Elegant little bottle Karen :)...I love perfume bottles. I just don't run across very many in my travels. Usually just the pressed glass ones or an occasional Murano or Chinese copy. The Euro ones seem to be more elusive and expensive.

Thanks Mike. Same, I rarely see any here......I have 1 I think is Murano and 2 Orrefors, but none of those exceptional Czech bottles!

beautiful...aside from cut glass and crystal, I dont get to see many...I must post a little bottle though I picked up onle very cheaply, it's art nouveau or repro, I'll post it as I think you might know more than I do about bottlrs which I place in costume jewellery category...
your vase is lovely, the colour reminds me of the 1950's 60's as does the pattern, looks like a Doris Day twin set...just gorgeous :)
