I bought this trunk for $20 from a guy who cleans out foreclosures. After I cleaned it, it actually looks like its in really good shape. The interior has a thin cloth lining in navy blue with small flowers. The keepers for the leather straps, which are missing, appear to unusual since I have only seen one other picture like them on the hundreds of internet trunk pictures I have looked at. The label was torn off on the inside and only a small piece remains which does not tell me who made the trunk. The lock says Long Lock T906. Any information on this trunk history or manufacturer would be greatly appreciated.

      Scooch,
Nice trunk. It's a flat top of course, or packing trunk, from the early 1900's. It was once canvas covered, but someone did a nice job of removing the canvas, which was more than likely dry rotted. There were so many manufacturers of this particular style trunk, it would be difficult to say which trunk maker manufactured this on. Linen linings were very commonly used in these trunks during that period. I have a few with the original linen linings still remaining. Great buy and beautiful trunk!
