    Another mammoth piece from FTG Marti.

    Lego lady again for scale. (She needs a name. Please help!)
    This time my scales gave up after 5 kilos.

    A very clever vase this with it's double sommerso. When you think that it was probably made within 2 decades of the Japanese art glass movement really starting you can see that skill developed quickly.

    Lovely deep red, and the second layer with black mixed in is a really unusual feature. Lots of makers did sommerso but I don't think the idea of adding a colour mix like this was very common

    The clear case is so thick! I still wonder how they manipulated the weight of these pieces as they made them.
