I went to this really lousy flea market today, but came away with two Alchemy rings from the '90s, this stick pin and a pair of Jean Paul Gauthier Kokorico steel and black cuff links. I parted with $9.00. :-)
This cameo pin is made from plastic and base metal (or brass) and was very dirty. What a difference a tiny bit of soap and water made.
I will post the other stuff separately.

    Thanks for looking, CW friends!

Oh WOW!! This is incredible. What amazing bargains. I'll have to take you to the flea markets with me!! You've got a much better eye than me!

jscotto363 - I've been going to flea markets and thrift shops for DECADES. Most of the time, I find something really nice. My best find, to date, is the 18K gold ring I posted here a week or so ago > 50 cents. Two years ago, I bought a 14K gold ring made in Switzerland from another thrift shop for 20 cents. I find gold fairly regularly!

You are a lucky lady, Efesgirl! I am always too slow because I over-analyse every buy.
I think that your pin is about from the same period than my brooch. I see many similarities. Just one question: How did you get it so clean? Really only soap and water?
      Thanks for posting it!

freiheit - yes, some dish soap, warm running water and a soft baby's toothbrush. The cameo was really filthy! I dried it right away with a soft cotton hand towel. All I need now is a "thingy" for the bottom of the pin to cover the point. That should be easy to find.

Thanks a lot, Efesgirl. I will give it a try. If it turns out OK, I will post the result:)
