The paper on the back is definitely old and untouched, but i'm seriously contemplating opening it up to clean it up a bit and try to make out the signature better. i don't see any telltale signs of lithography, so i think this is either an original drawing/watercolor or some other form of print. i love the really cool flowers in it. 1920s, i think. it's a print! i just opened it and put a photo of it in. Callitropsis.

I would have guessed 40s or later, it's a very pretty print! :)

thanks Efesgirl, rucklzglass, and katherinescollections! i would have guessed 40s or later too, until i saw the frame construction and eyehooks/hanger stuff on the back. i think it's earlier than the style appears to be on the outset.

Beautiful! I'd open it up, and replace the mat and backing with acid free versions to stop them damaging the artwork any further. I love the frame and glass with it, though - just lovely! :)
