I recently bought this Cyclops car at an online auction. Can anyone give me some clues on how to restore the very faded paint back to the original colour of red. Does anyone know the original name of the colour? It is not pink, but the red pigment has faded out of the colour. Is it just enamel? Should I have it resprayed in 2 pack red? The underside in in mint condition to me. Any history on this model would be appreciated also. I am guessing an early 60's?

Alexg has it but they are sold by several vendors. The are made in China by Amax Ind.

They are powder coated so you should be able to buff the paint to a shine with some good polishing compound.

Can you suggest a good polishing compound please? Would Kitten Cut and polish followed by Turtle wax or Mothers Canuba wax do this?

yes nicefice is right sum ppl make look old to get more $$$ for them than they are worth....u just have to investigate and look close at pictures and find the diffrences of them...for example this one has tailight lines goin up and down, hood ornament is not a speer, has 3 side port holes not 4, has license plate mold, steering wheel is wrong these are the biggest things to look for that cyclops logo looks like some1 added it and made look like was origibally on there...heres a link of mine so u can see diffrence for urself

Any name brand automobile polish should work. an electric buffer would be handy, even one that fit a drill.

I don't think the word Cyclops is copyrighted. They are not using the Australian Cyclops logo.
I think your Cyclops pedal car was sold by Target recently.
alexg points out the differences quite well.
