I have this Asian Ginger Jar, and I cannot find any information at all. I've found a view similarly designed ginger jars on the internet, however all of those had a made in china stamped on the bottom of them. This one has a makers mark on the bottom, which I can't seem to find anywhere. It looks like it incorporates the Chinese symbol of strength but modified a bit. The jar is double faced with almost identical images, everything is traced in gold, and is very detailed. Each face depicts 5 geisha girls. 1 Rowing a boat in the upper left corner, 1 riding a Blue Bull (which is very odd), and 3 watching the geisha ride the bull. I have no idea really who the maker of this is, or if it's before or after the 19th century. I'm at a loss. I would definitely appreciate any help for this mystery piece! It's definitely very nice to look at all the detail! Any help is appreciated, Thank you!!

      What a beautiful jar.
I can't help with the mark but this falls loosely under Satsuma moriage pottery.
I think it's unusual that the mark has been moulded not painted.
Perhaps this FB group could help:

Thank you Racer4Four. I'm going to post to that facebook group and see if they might know more information as well. The mark is what gets me, most of the jars i've seen to do with Satsuma that are very similar to this one have "Made in China" written on the bottom, which makes me think those ones i've looked at are repro's. Not sure what to make of this jar I have though. The search continues. . .
