l found these earrings today. They are marked but I find it hard to read. I believe the black part is enamel.

    Thanks for looking.

I think it's enamel. I doesn't feel as smooth as onyx. 80's sounds about right to me too. Thanks Valentino97:)

Thanks, Elisabethan. Even though I don't like all styles of Mexican jewelry, I will buy a piece if it is silver, hand made, creative, well-priced, or signed by the artist. It doesen't have to meet all of these criteria LOL

Hi freiheit, I've just put some Mexican Jewellery on by the designer Antonio Pineda. Your earrings have a similar look to them, the black part of your earrings is I think Obsidian.

Peasejan, it is possible that they are made with an Obsidian. I thought it was enamel or maybe some kind of resin because the earrings are very large and not too heavy. This is actually good because outherwise they would be too heavy to wear:)
I am happy to hear you are wearing your Mexican jewellery. I think it is easy to wear and always looks great. In my case it has an added bonus: Because of the size of the pieces they are harder to lose - I lose everything:(
