Hi, I brought this old vice with a view of restoring it. I know it's old but have no idea of the origin, make or age.

It looks to be a rotating model as it has two vice ends. It will take a bit of work to loosen up.

There is a brand name in a big circle but it is caked under layers of old paint so I will need to put some elbow grease into getting to it.

It's not light and looks like it's had a good life.

I'm hoping someone might recognise it and help me out.

    Thanks for any help.

Cheers and hi from New Zealand - Piotr

Sorry, can't help in identifying the piece; but, if you haven't already done so, there should be some sort of industrial strength paint remover on the commercial market you can use to remove the paint. Nice vintage-looking bench vise you've got there.

Wow!, what a Cool Looking Vise! I have seen hundreds of vises over the years, but have never seen one quite like yours! The main thing that stands out to me, is the way the the replacement jaws attach from the outside in, as opposed to inside out, and with the very large machine screws used holding them in place!. If you have access to a sand, or bead blaster, that is the way I would strip it. The logo trademark will be the key to who made it, and I'm very curious to know myself. Thanks for sharing it, and Welcome to CW!

Thanks lzenglish, I've been looking and looking and I've failed to fine one like it.

I'm looking forward to working to on it and hopefully will discover who made it.

      Cheers

Hi this looks like a Wilton vice, this one is probably pre 40s quite early, but the same style of vice is still made.
