Father in laws mug. Used as a shaving mug, but I'm wondering if that was its original purpose? On bottom of mug it says mfg & plated by Reed & Barton with a number 44 under that. He was born in 1919 and a note says it belonged to his father and his grandfather before he got it. Wondering the year it was made and if it was actually a shaving mug?
This isn't a shaving mug, as far as I can determine. Here are marks for Reed & Barton:
