I recently acquired the piece shown in the attached images at a local flea market. It is a a bisque porcelain statue of a seated negro / black older gentleman holding a bowl in his lap. It is 14" tall. It looks like it was made in two pieces (the figure and the chair) and fused together during firing. I believe it was the top piece of a fountain as there is a small square hole in the inside of the neck (maybe 3/8" x 3/8") and a hole in the mouth where water would come out into the bowl. I'm looking for assistance in identifying its age / maker / and how it would have been used. Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
