THESE WERE AT THE SALVATION ARMY AND CAUGHT MY EYE. VERY INTRICATE ETCHING AND HEAVY FOR THE SIZE. THEY ARE 6" TALL WITH A 21/2" BASE AND THE CUP IS 1 1/2" WIDE. THE MARKING ON THE BOTTOM IS AN S SUPERIMPOSED OVER AN H. ONE SAYS MADE IN JAPAN THE OTHER JUST JAPAN. ANY INFORMATION ON THESE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

they look like funeral urns to me. The kind you put on a tombstone to fill with flowers. I certainly could be wrong but I'd check it out.

AR8Jason these are heavy for the size and a lot of intricate detail. Couldn't resist them.

THEY APPEAR TO BE SILVER PLATED COPPER. AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE BASE, THEN THE OUTSIDE.

well they certainly would not be cemetary urns if they are silverplate on copper.

perhaps a chalice used in religious ceremonies?
