Some photos I took at the Pima Air Museum. These are some less well known planes from between WWII and the jet age.
#1 is a Douglas C-124C Globemaster II. Made from 1950-1955 and retired in 1966. With 3 stories of cargo and passenger decks it was like a flying barn.
#2 is a B-36 Peacemaker made from 1946-1954 and retired in 1959. Featured 6 motors mounted on the rear of the wings.
#3 is a Douglas C-133B Cargomaster built from 1956-1961 and retired in 1971. It has an unusually long fuselage forward of the wings.
#4 is the Lockheed C-121A Constellation. Made from 1948-1958. It had a bit longer of the service life. There are two flying examples left today.

LOVE old, vintage planes, although I'm deathly afraid of flying!!! No joke.

Thank you very much NevadaBlades. After my last flight I am not too wild about it either.

Very cool aircraft. I really like the raw aluminium look of the bodies. I must find out what my Uncle Malcolm flew during ww2. I know my mom has much memorabilia of him including himself being decorated by the Queen for 'Most kills'. He was a wing commander in the RAF.
