I think this is a really nice looking bracelet despite the fact it's not what it's purported to be. I thought it felt a bit sharp/heavy and the marks looked "iffy", but for 4 bucks I went ahead and got it just for fun. Only the brass was discolored. The whole bracelet cleaned up very nicely with metal polish. The Bible clasp is tight and gives a resounding "CLICK" when closed.

I did some research on it and found a load of info on Silver Forums 925-1000. I will post a link below in the comments, and also a link of the genuine bracelet which my bracelet is mimicking. The genuine silver bracelet was made in the 1950s, so I wonder if this "Wanna Be" bracelet is from the same period.

I also own a counterfeit Wedgwood plate from the 1840s. Researching it was interesting. Wonder if anyone has a collection of only counterfeit items? Hmmm.

    Thanks for looking, CW friends.

You have the best luck, and are rewarded time and time again because you know, somehow, that you have found something special.

I was so happy when I bought a Wedgewood plate (the real thing) - then I sat on it! Was a clean break, and a good friend who had great experience with crazy glue fixed it for me, but it really isn't the same anymore.

Thanks for showing us these lovely things Efesgirl.

Thanks, Gillian! I know what you mean about something, which was perfect when bought, suddenly ending up in two pieces not being the same. I have a few pieces like that, and after I glue them and cover up the break, I figure it's not so bad after all. :-)

val - I was surprised at the info I found, but not disappointed to learn that this is alpaca rather than silver.

By the way, I learned somewhere that some people prefer to wear alpaca over silver. I think it is easier to wear/clean alpaca:)

freiheit - yes, that's true. Alpaca normally doesn't react to skin acids and maintains it's color.
