Probably not impossible to photograph, just a hard one for me.
Made by Iwatsu Glass Japan and probably around the 1970s/80s.
Blue glass has been clear cased and iridised, and then squashed so that every photo makes it look like an alien's head.
Truth is, in life this vase is just gorgeous.
It doesn't look alien at all, just beautiful.

Mudwoman that word fits - fantabulous. I can remember in high school playing with mercury, rolling it around in my hand, and it was beautiful like this. Well said!

It didn't really look alien until I tried to photograph it! I don't know how you Czech glassies get such fab photos with highly reflective glass. Glad you like it.....thanks.

These photos drove me mad. Aliens everywhere and after Blade called it an ant face I see bull ants everywhere. Hopeless case.

This is a gorgeous vase. Glass like this is hard to photograph. Indirect light, maybe a darker background? Just a suggestion. As far as life sucking, I find thrifting to be therapeutic.
