Lane cedar chest, blonde. Style number 7582-03, serial number 759111 - made on November 19, 1959 if I understand the code correctly. Inherited many years ago from my grandmother. The old lock is present but removed for safety and a new one is on the way. The original key envelope is there but not the key. All the hardware is sound and in place. The lid and drawer open smoothly.

The veneer on both sides has slight buckling near the bottom but is intact. The veneer on the top shows normal wear from use. The interior smells of clean cedar and has no obvious mars. The felt lining in the drawer and the upper divided compartment shows wear to be expected from a piece this age.

It sits at the foot of my bed storing some other old treasures but will soon be emptied and then hold a few precious quilts instead.
