I found this saw in a shed and I am wondering what its intended use was. The only marking is New York Saw Works, the blade is not replaceable like most hack saws and this is original. After attempting some research, I wondered if it is a bone saw. Does anyone know anything about New York Saw works?

I would think that surgical saws would be of Stainless Steel and would not have a wooden handle.

I've been looking, could this have some other markings somewhere? I'm thinking that it might be a Butchers Bone Saw...............The set and style of the tooth pattern is odd.

I can't find any other markings. I was thinking bone, as in butcher saw also. Thanks for your comments.

That's fair. I was thinking surgery not meat...duh! Here is a similar piece.
