There are a few Loetz elephant figurine vases posted and wanted to share my example that has decorative etching since there is not one posted.
Blown of colourless glass. Ears, tusks, legs, trunk, mouth and tail are applied. Elephant has a decorative etched saddle with flowers, stars and other geometric motifs.
5" tall. 8" long at best.
Revised: In Truitt II, there's elephant decanter sets under Palda from the mid 1930's which my elephant may very well be Palda and not Loetz. Also notice there is different sizes of elephant decanter sets. (fig.4)
In the 1902 Loetz line drawing notice the back of the elephant is at a slant which the Palda example is not. (fig.3)
With the line drawings, the production of these examples were in style for 25+ years. Dave Littlefield has a elephant figurine example with out a slant back and a oval Czechoslovakia mark to confirm Loetz was still producing the elephant shape in the 1920's. My example was not marked. I believe, as Dave said in his posting, his example could have been commissioned, and maybe with the slight differences in shape, we can tell what is early and late production by looking if the elephant shape has a slant back or not. Just a thought...

That's beautiful! I think I would be putting some expensive silk flowers in there. :-))
Nice one..... Are the tusks missing?
Hi Moonhill. I understand it is common to find the tusks damaged or missing. On this example the tips of the tusks have been ground down, but are still present. Thank you, for your interest.
Thank you, Effesgirl for the suggestion and compliment. :)
