My father in law's mother passed away years ago. While cleaning out her basement we found a box of elephant figurines.

We think these are made from brass?

Any opinions and or further information regarding these items and welcomed!

These do look like brass, and are most likely from India. The trunks are up, which is supposed to bring good luck to your home. If you look on Google Images and search Brass Elephant, you will find many of them in all kinds of styles.

      Thank you. Are these common?

Yes, they are somewhat common. Usually sold in the tourist markets. The ones you have are probably older ones, since they came down through the family.
