A Victorian Bohemian beauty with all the bells and whistles. Vase is blown of opaque opal-white glass that does react under UV light. The applied decoration has pink-opal blossoms with variegated leaves, and amber coloured branches with two birds perched on the top of each handle. Polished pontil.

Extraordinary and amazing condition considering it's delicacy and age.
They must have run out of ideas to fill in the few remaining empty spots!
It's beautiful and the birds just top it off.

Thank you, racer44. I am completely flattered by your compliment. Believe it or not, the vase has damage. The backside of the vase does have a repair. The applied vine as you will see in the front on the footed base was missing on the back and was lovingly replaced with a amber stopper. lol The repair was done well before I acquired it and I was glad to see someone had taken the time to save it. Some flaws can be forgiving. :) Thanks, again for commenting!

Hey, OZ! The only other bird like this I've seen was on a basket, and the bird was attached to the side of the handle. The birdie was pink, not amber. :)

Thank you, Mudwoman and Gruff! I have a thing for applied motifs, especially flowers and this is one of the best examples I've come across. Thanks, again!!

How incredible, I've seen tons of Lizards, Flowers, Fruits, but I have never seen applied glass birds!
