Marks on paper date the paper in the 1600's or earlier, Used mainly by the Dutch Masters. I can only find bits of info. Feel free to contact me with info or questions. Maybe a new Rembrandt or Ruisdael water color.????

I believe I have solved the mystery.
This piece of artwork hung on the bathroom wall for years.
If anyone has experience in hiding multiple images and text under watercolor paint I would be interested in knowing the processes.
Jan van Eyck I believe is the man looking back at me.
The Original Master of hidden imagery.

Where is the watermark and what is the name written in the lower right corner of the painting?

If you believe the painting is that old, then the watermark should be examined via thermography.

The name appears to be Vera St aHl but who really knows. The painting appears to have small printed text from left to right that has been covered by paint only revealing a few random letters. The paper has the first watermark starting at the lower left margin reading 918 in block style numbers with a space then reading (England) followed by a capital letter ( B). The water marks are clear, defined and easy to see. I have found the watermark to be a safe guarded secret by most of the art historians. I have to use multiple IP addresses to log on the Dutch art research site to get information. I have several other paintings that I believe were done by the same artist.
