I picked up these glass shades at an estate sale this past weekend. There is no ridge at the top (for the screws to hold it on). I can't figure out what kind of lamp they might go on? The other lamp base was so covered in dirt, that I thought I might just clean it, and spray paint it. After cleaning off the dirt, I found this really great soft white finish. I liked it so much, I thought better of painting it, and will leave it as is. I've never seen one like it before....has anyone else? Thanks
Hi! I would put it on a lamp that is called a torchiere. The smaller tube shape would fit into the socket. The larger part of the shade would be up. You didn't mention the size though, so depending on that, it would go on the table or floor.
Thanks Tamara. I thought they were too small for a torchiere, but it would help if I posted the size. There were 10 of them in the box...no lamp. They stand about 3-3/4 inches high, top opening 1-3/4 inches and bottom opening 6 inches wide. They have a faint carnival glass look about them.
At the size and quanity they could be part of a chandelier (SP) again with the small end down over the socket and then the bulb in place...the only other thing that comes to mind is an Oil Lamp shade that fits over the globes narrow top part...just my guesses ! The other unit looks like a classic 1950's lamp, some were glazed some painted and some plain like this.....new guts would make this a nest lamp or you could sell somewhere as-is...... your call.........

I'll have to see if that fits....I have lots of oil lamps. Thanks for the suggestions. I will rewire the 50's lamp. I just took it apart to be able to clean it. I LOVE lamps. It's probably my favorite collectible!! Saw a quote recently. Light always follows the path of the beautiful (anonymous).
Looks like a shade for a Torchere floor lamp. Great color, can't tell the diameter of base (small end). Very Art Deco looking. Most had Mogul based Bulbs. I Can't help with white base, though it looks interesting.
