Bought a non-working fan today as I wanted a Knapp-Monarch fan from this era and it was really cheap. Plus I have enough working fans to power a 747.
I recently IDed a similar fan for a drive by poster who copied my comment for their eBay description but at least the photos were right side up.
In 1935 this fan was $5.40 with no on/off switch. It had only one speed. The cast iron base is very heavy for a fan this size.
It has an interesting cage design which looks a bit like a flower.

So, this must be the predecessor of the "clap on, clap off" devices??? :P [;>)

Thank you very much NevadaBlades. Not quite the clapper.

Thank you SpiritBear. Yes you just unplug it. An on/off button was an option.

I have a lot of fans too, and yours is cool! First time I've ever seen a JackFrost fan.

Thank you very much Signaholic. There are others on the net but for this variation is rare. The only other examples are just the cage.
