Tsugaru Vidro is one of the larger glass houses still producing hand made glass in Japan today.

This vase is not in their current production although is relatively recent.

On a white ground they have spattered and dragged green, blue and black glass and blown it into a traditional shape.
I really like the subtlety of the finished pattern and find it interesting and restful.

The rim has been pulled to make a very square frilled edge that is a signature for Tsugaru Vidro.
Unlike vintage Japanese glass this more recent production is not cased and so is much thinner walled and lighter.

    Height 26cm (10 in)

Gorgeous Japanese spatter.....and, even at a glance, different from Italian or Czech versions.

It is amazing isn't it Peggy that the same idea can be done so differently. Thanks.

Mudwoman I'm happy you like the combination of colours too. They work well!

      Thanks so much Phil.

OGF - if I could cheer you up with it from Aus it would be yours!
