I found a few of these cups, saucers and plates today. They are unmarked, but a knowledgeable friend has said they are made by Allerton (Charles Allerton and sons 1859-1942). They are transfer printed with an Oriental pattern and very poorly painted over in orange and they have a lustre finish. Apparently Allerton china wasn't marked often in the 19th century, so these are probably Victorian.

The overall effect is nice, though the splodges of orange does look a bit odd!

Mine is similar orange-gold colored poorly painted over transferware, but looks good for its condition. And I have yet to find the origin of my plate, if anyone knows anything about Petrus Regout & co Maastricht Holland imitations, I think I have one, stamped "JAPAN", and would like to get its origin/history. It looks chinoiserie Asian scene, with man/woman in garden, palm trees, ble and red flowers and pagodas.
