This ring has been on CW before.
In the pass 2 years I have learnt a lot from the people on here, and I thank you all. I had no idea about this ring when It was first posted, I didn't know if the ring was gold has it wasn't marked and if the stones were diamonds, now I can answer these questions, the only thing I can't answer is if the ring is new or has age.
The gold has tested for over 18ct, which leads me to believe it could have been made in India, the ring is very heavy. The stones are diamonds and the size are approx 2.7 - 3.0 mm. I love this ring it always reminds me of a portcullis. I feel I would like to go farther and find out more about the diamonds the three Cs Colour, Clarity I know the cut is round. I wonder if it would be worth having it valued?
    Many thanks for looking

      Hi Jean!
Remember seeing it, but not what I said... Age is growing ;-)
Is the stone setting closed at back, as it seems from pic 2 ?
How did you check they are diamonds ?
Difficult to be sure from pics, of course, but I don't feel diamonds...

Hi kyra, the back is open, I now have a diamond selector and all the liquids to determined what the metals are. You could be right about the diamonds because sythetic stones would register the same as real diamonds. They are beauties and the photos really don't do these stones justice. That is why I'm thinking maybe to get the ring valued. It would be interesting to see what the jeweller comes back :-)

Hi kyra, I've put another photo of the back, it's much clearer

      Aaaah open back! Better!
The cut of the stones is modern, not old mine.
The higher than 18 carats gold makes me think as you said :-)

Moissanite can react as diamond with some testers as I read.
You may have it professionally tested !

I've tried stones that I have known have been diamonds with my selector, these diamonds in this ring react in the same way. May be I should bite the bullet and have the stones tested by a Jeweller. I have looked though a loupe but I can't see any carbon dots.

Forgot to say I love this design which reminds renaissance era :)

Thank you Phil, I do like this ring very much, I do get comments from people, probably because it is unusually. Kyra, I have had this ring many years, I agree it is probably modern and in the Renaissance style. Thank you both for the time to post :-)
