Another passion of mine! Jadeite!
Most expensive and sought after is imperial variety...
Jadeite Jewellery of Utmost Prominence in the History of Auction: The Hutton-Mdivani Necklace | Sotheby's
Apart not beeing rich enough to own one piece, I prefer this apple green :-).
This one was bought for 30 £ 3 years ago, it was very short and had 3 peking glass beads in it.
Last week I found a spare stones and beads lot with 9 jadeite beads matching in size and color with it!!!
I just finish to restrung it, adding some more rondelles it hadn't, leaving the open rings in wait of an appropriate clasp.
Buying genuine jadeite online is very tricky!
Color is generally not the same and pics are not enough detailed...
I buy only old beads, jade was not dyed or enhanced.
But prices are now very high, even for very average quality.
This one has a delightful bright color and beads are still shiny!
16.5" long or 42cm with the end rings, beads slightly graduated from 3/16" or 5mm to 1/4" or 7.5mm
