I bought this along with the amethyst cabochon bracelet for the sum of $2.00. While researching it last night, I found it very difficult to find anything at all with the name "UNION" attached to it in reference to the bracelet. I am assuming this bracelet is gold plate rather than rolled gold or anything else. What is surprising is the bright, almost buttery color of the bracelet and also the lack of wear. A search of the bracelet clasp got me zero. Maybe an early version of a lobster clasp? That also got me nothing.

Anyone who has a clue, please speak up. Thanks.

Agree with gold plated, the open links are a clue it isn't so precious.
Don't know the name for the clasp, but I bought a new silver bracelet with rounded same links AND THE EXACT CLASP in the 70'.
So, before the lobster clasp :-)

kyra - Yes, could be the 70s. I have an .835 silver bracelet with exactly the same clasp. The dutch sword mark for .835 (post 1956) and silversmith initials "DCW" which I have failed to find anywhere on the net. There is also that silver mark shaped like a keyhole with the number "3" inside.

Maybe you could ask this lady:

Christie Romero is the director of the Center for Jewelry Studies, http://www.center4jewelrystudies.org and the author of Warman's Jewelry.

katherine - Christie Romero died in 2009. I'll look elsewhere on their website and see if I can find anything useful to me. Thanks for the link.

Oh geez, sorry about that Bonnie, obviously I didn't look at the date on that article, and there wasn't any mention of her passing, just saw that she was an authority and willing to share what she knew with people who inquired via her email addy.

No problem, katherine. Her death date was listed in the article.

Now how did I miss that??? Sorry, Bons, I did look at other sites with no luck, then saw this article and the lady's name and email addy, and thought it would be worth a try. I read through it too quickly, I guess. :P
