4 sad Mexican divorces: They're all sterling earrings from 30's-50's (tree maybe 50's-70's) and marked. The first 2 are ready for a soldered loop. I think the top one is 1930's. I pulled off the broken screwbacks some years ago. The blue glass mask would make a nice pin, but I keep hoping I'll find its mate somewhere since the style is common. However, the blue isn't as easy to find. The tree?? I bought these pierced trees in Tijuana from a little old lady with one display box - for $1 in late 80's and were my favorites because of the delicate motif and slender .5" wide size. Then a few years ago I lost one while moving and I've been searching for it online, etc. ever since.
So....they are divorced but much loved, taken out and cleaned every now and again - oops the blue mask is not too clean....
Hope you enjoy - and yes I'm hoping to find their match.
I love them all....and now they have each other for company! :-)
These are great. You know, in today's world, earrings don't have to match!! I'd wear these puppies and mix them up in a heartbeat!
Hi Bonnie! You are right!!
MyFav - I wear the tree w/another small stud earring, hoping someone will say - HEY, I have one of those too :-)
Thanks Mike for the love!
That's great! My ears are pierced twice (which is not much, compared to some of the younger generation LOL), so I'd find a way to fit them in (not all at once, but in a mix or as an add-on to existing pairs).
Great Bunch of Divorcee there. I am sure they enjoy each other company and maybe you can take them out to play some Bingo some time, or for a coffee.
Those chump of the mates that left these poor pieces....LOL
Hi MyFav - Ha, ha ha! I am old and only one piercing per ear, 2 is great though tiny on top? I wear big rings and bracelets by the stacks so I think it balances out better that way.
Thanks Rose - maybe our singles can get together for bingo? I am sad about the missing mates. Always hoping I will find them one day. But honestly, these 4? No, I've been looking years to match these all up.
Thank you CW friends for love: Mike, Jean, Amatoor, Aura
A couple of them would make lovely necklaces, or put, not together, on a silver wire. They're very elegant in my humble opinion.
Knew someone eons ago, that only ever wore one earring.
Valentino! What a troup of cuties!!!
Beeing fond of brooches I'd put a pin back to each and wear them as a group on a lapel
Hi Gillian - I am not sure what I'll do with them, agree the 2 silver are elegant enough to carry off as a pendant. Simple and lovely! One long or dramatic earring? Yes, remember that too!
Thanks Kyra - I hear you - all would work as pins, which I love on sweaters and jackets. I haven't made my mind up yet....
Not necessarily tiny on top; for instance, I'd put the one with the blue stone in the top hole of one ear lobe (completely covering the bottom hole and no earring there), then put a matching-pewter-type ball stud in the top hole of the other ear, with a like-pewter-loop in the bottom hole of same ear. OR, I'd put that tree-looking one in the top hole of one ear (again, covering bottom hole and no earring there), and put 2 pewter stud types in the opposite ear. I don't know, maybe I'm just weird LOL. But I'd find a way, they're too nice!
MyFavoriteTreasures - I EAR YOU - thanks I like your suggestions! I usually only wear simple earrings to off-set the other globs of glory I wear below on wrist and fingers... You are not weird.
Are you talking about my brother he married for Spanish girls and divorce them all
Number five is a charm
The third one is my fav, looks like an Egyptian design, the blue stone is too beautiful !
Ha ha ha Gruff - is this true about your brother? One of my sisters has been married 4 times - twice to the same guy. She always gets on my ass when I complain about my boyfriend (of 13 yrs) She says I'm lucky to have stayed independent and held on to all my money - jokey wink - :-) but independence, being able to collect junk, birds, decorate my place the way I want ....PRICELESS. hee hee hee
Thanks Phil - I looked online and blue glass seems to be a bit pricey. Yes, Mexican mask looks Egyptian doesn't it? I love this blue.
Thanks Gudrun - you were the one who called them divorces.
Thanks friends for the loves.
They are all beautiful! Wear them together and mix them. The blue is a stunning piece!
Very beautiful!! I love the one with the dangles best. :)
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest a charm bracelet, especially since you love your bracelets!
Thanks Elizabeth! I think I can find a blue set someday.
Thanks Ken - me too. I love that dangle one and plan to remake it to one of my Blue Jean Jkt Scatter pins.
Thanks Sue - I LOVE bracelets, thanks for remembering! If these flip around the sad backs would show....so they have to be pin or pendant. I'm going to leave the blue alone for awhile.
I have the match to your earring with the three dangles! I just checked and mine is the reverse of yours. How cool.
Thanks jthistle - that is cool! Where are you from? I believe mine came from Southern California. Love that you have the mate to my divorced earring :-) Will they ever meet again???
I still love the pierced tree earring from pic 4 the most, bought in Tijuana sometime in the late 1980's. Anyone out there have this earring?
Freiheit just posted a blue glass bracelet to match my beautiful blue divorcee....
