This was my grandparents clock. I've never heard any history on it. They both passed in late 1990's and they were on their 80's. I would love to date this clock. It

You have one of the older "Chicago" models from Seth Thomas' City Clock Colllection. This clock probably dates from sometime around the 1880's so it was probably passed down to them or they acquired it as a used clock. Hope that helps.
Thank you so much. That's awesome!! I knew it was older but not that old. I've always loved it and would love to find someone to get it keeping time again. It will work for 10-15 minutes then abruptly stops. Thanks again!!!
