A unique 60's style modern vase I found, it has a teeny hairline crack unfortunately, but I think it is in great condition. The price was a steal, I got it for about 15, but it was marked at 25 (I am good friends with the vendors at this shop :) ). The seller didn't seem to know much about it when I asked today, she said it was her sisters and they had found it in muskegon in a junk shop in the 80's.

Not sure the manufacturer or exact age.

My guess is it for the Japanese art of arranging flowers called Ikebana. Post in the Japanese category, too.

I Googled heagar pottery, and saw some very similarly colored/textured pieces with the bumpy white porcelain exterior and the turquoise glazed interior but none of this shape, I'm not sure what exactly to call this shape, but I googled tear drop, and found nothing. I will keep searching! Thank you!!

By the way, the bottom says "original USA" I believe, but nothing else.

Its like a moon vase of the 1960's except the handle is long.

Here's a link to a modern one! Google Vintage Crescent Vase. You find some, but none as spectacular as the one you have! That shape is very popular for Ikebana. I could dig out my books - I'm sure I've seen an arrangement in one like that.

Here's a Toyo from the 1960s Ikebana crescent. Yours is STILL much better!
