It’s very large with: thick, 1 inch-plus, dove-tailed, one-board-wide sides & top (I believe walnut) with hand forged iron workings.
Measures 48” wide x 30” high x 28” deep.
I'm captivated by this - might have to be buried in it.

A gorgeous trunk -- looks to be from the 17th century -- (hard to say for sure without a closer inspection) nonetheless a great piece of craftsmanship. Had to smile at the mention of being buried in it... a similar statement often bantered around in regards to my final resting place. I trust it has found a center place in your home....
