I bought this bracelet at a antique shop in Denver. I wonder what the stone is and was unsure about the inside stamp. It is very nice looking and I would like to know if the stamp indicates if it is actually silver and I would love to know what the stone is or maybe just glass. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.
Does the little mark say * 950 * in an Oval circle?
Yes I think that is the marking 950 inside a circle. Does that denote the silver content? Thanks for the question made me look closer at the mark.
Can't make out the colour of the stone - too many reflections because the photo is taken outside. They're lovely photos by the way. Could you please take some more pictures inside please. Thank you.
A very pretty bracelet! If the stone is a pure black, then it's Onyx. Obsidian is another pure black stone, but not likely that this is Obsidian.
Countries currently using .950 silver are:
France (highest quality)
Japan
Switzerland
Yugoslavia
Bulgaria
Romania
Hungary
Gillian - thanks for having a look. Yes I need to take an indoor picture. The stone is not actually black but a dark brown with some kinda swirl inside. I will add photos soon. Thanks again.
Efesgirl - thanks for the information for various countries that use that silver content stamp. The stone is really I think a dark brown with maybe a "swirl" that is difficult to see at the top. I need to take some indoor shots of the stone. Appreciate your comments & information.
