I have recently bought an blue and white oval dish in a vide maison in Manot, Charente. It seems to be old - I would guess over 100 years old with a maker's mark "art nouveau".
The pattern includes flowers, butterflies and strange face with what appear abstract elements. The plate itself is probably earthenware.
Is there any information you could give me about the origin and/or meaning of the designs?
