    I like Dutch glass.
I bought this at a collector's fair in Sydney a month ago.
I believe it is: vaas KO306, amber, 'optiek', brede bolle voet met 4 ringen, naar boven toe wijder. Its designer was K.P.C. de Bazel for Leerdam.
I found out that the KO306 vases “could be easily adapted for 'geringd' (external horizontal ribs), 'geslepen' (cut in a range of patterns) and sometimes inverted ('omgekeerd') or made with optical vertical ribs ('optiek'). KO306 is a design from 1919. It is 15 cm tall.

The vase is marked with the second “revised mark” from post 1921.
It also has etched above and below de Bazel’s mark:
    • REGd No
    • 587501 (the numbers are not all clear)
This may indicate that it was a special order perhaps for the unusual vertical optic ribs.

Look at the flower arrangements too in these old photos!
      Wow!
One thing I loved about being in Amsterdam ( and in the Netherlands) was the flowers. I adored being able to get the best flowers! The world trade in blooms stems from your market! I'd go and buy two dozen tulips and take them back to my apartment and just wonder!

my old boss lives in a mansion that was designed by De Bazel in 1912 and he has a huge periode collection ,furniture, glass, sculptures, wood, paintings, textiel, jewelry pottery, china and dinnerwhare and cuttlery ,silver, copper.( Collection Meentwijck)
When i visited him i was afraid to sit down or put my hands on the table.

The mark is the simpler mark, I believe with regd no above and the numbers below. That will mean after 1921. My photo has the mark upside down. I'll change it now.

A de Bazel home and furniture!
      Wow!
You have to be born into it or have mega-bucks!
      Anyone would be nerrrrrrvous.

Such an interesting thread. Some amazing history here combined with stunning pictures. I've been to Keukenhof, but I think too young to appreciate it.
Who'd of thought all this came from your picture, Vet, of a little orange vase! Going to the very beginning, did you ever get in touch again with Jan Kees van Os, and get some photos from him?
    37. vetraio50 vetraio50, 8 years ago
