This is nothing special but it feels like candy for the eyes, doesn't it?
The brooch has a metal frame but no marks.
I know nothing about it at all. If anyone has some ideas, I would love to hear from you.
Thanks for looking:)
It looks beautiful, especially in the first picture.
PLASTIC??? (closes open mouth).
This is the most beautiful piece of "plastic" jewelry I have seen in a long time.
I betcha it's Lucite. This brooch looks much too rich and the stones much too clear to be just plastic.
Efesgirl, I agree that it could be Lucite but I have no clue how to tell the different plastics apart. I can see the difference between Bakelite and the cheap modern stuff but anything in between is a mystery to me:)
Anything in between is usually Lucite. :) Beautiful brooch! :)
Thanks, katherinescollections:)
I agree with Bonnie and Katherine - this doesn't look plastic. It was probably from a very good mfg.
Gudrun - clear plastics like this aren't bakelite. I know you know that. One way to date old plastics is from their weight and wear (this doesn't have scratches, lots of 70's and beyond plastic scratch easily because they were cheaply made), and the general design - this was from a good company.
Whatever it is, it is very nice.
That's gorgeous Gudrun - eye candy for sure
Very, very, very pretty !!!
Thanks so much for your input, Mary. I didn't know about the scratching but it makes perfect sense.
Lentilka11, thanks for your nice comment:)
Racer4four, you are so correct: It's like candy for the eye!
Many thanks, martika, as well:)
Many thanks for loving my brooch:
