I recently found this oak chest. It looks like an old icebox yet it does not have any metal lining. It was part of a dining room and armoir set I am told that was from the early 1900's.

anyone have any information on this as I am contemplating either refinishing it or selling it.

It was an ice box made by Jewett Refrigeration Company and converted into a chest I am thinking. And yes probably early 1900 or perhaps a bit earlier.

Photos of the back and bottom would be helpful but this looks like a modern cabinet made to look like an old ice box.

If it indeed was an ice box it would say "Jewett's" on the label. Really cool though... (pun unintended)
