Hi all! I recently discovered this beautiful little pot in a bunch of porcelain that my Grandma collected. It was in with a bunch of vases. What struck me was the amazing quality of the item. It is entirely hand painted and very well done(in my humble opinion! Lol) I have never seen a pot with the bottom being that old looking before. I know that it have to be a minimum of 50 years old as my Grandma collected most of her blue and white wear in her 30's and she passed away in her 90's. When you shine a light into the pot it actually lights up through the porcelain. It wonderfully lights up the painting from the reverse. The pot is approximately 4 inches tall and 3-4 inches wide.

well there are whole bibles written about this type of ware with ferocious ad infinutum scientific discourse

we can shout out all ware before xuanghu period
i surface division , not elongated , not stretched
2 the main indicator is between lack distinction cobalt blue normal blue
3 the main indicator is IMO, the type of stacking dorsal on the body of the dragon, is it monocolor is it diamond shaped , etc

the plating at the body of the dragon is made according the crosshatch and dots method ( Anthony Allen theory i believe)

its a simple dragon scene there are lot of them
1 chasing the pearl design ( we are an dragon and a pearl)
2 carp versus dragon ( antroposophical)
      3 seadragon
      dragon submerged dragon emerge etc

so we meet the desiderata concerning crosshatch and dots , but we are are missing , the distinction between the tonality of cobalt and normal blue ware

it got its pro,s and cons 9 the c and d is quite well and the dragon is of a disarmed frivolity

the cons are the overemphazes of the lining of the dragon body
and actually i wonder if the lid is from the same origan as the body, of centering is a MAJOR SIN and i am not so fond of the the lack of consistency of tonality

in spite of the kilnpitting i don,t think it is made before the end of the republic period ( 1949)

i can,t substantiate but the topping of the lid doesn,t look guangxu
