I have had the good fortune to travel to the glass regions of Bohemia as some of you have. Some have been to the glass factories or dug in rivers for shards of glass, still some have been to museum basements or archives where documentation exists. Ill humbly invite anyone who has had a personal experience with the glass to share it on the comments or in their own posts with links to this page.
One thing that stands out in my mind is how important the tools of the artists must have been to their Work. I wish I could document the metal tools that I have seen with the glass they produced with them. One of the thing that stands out is the metal mold; there are many left in the museum in Lenora Czech Rep. Some are solid while others have 2,3 or 4 sides. while some molds are used to "spin" a piece of glass others are used to emboss a shape, texture or design. Here is the same quiz to determine witch mold was used by what company...
Molded pieces:
1.
2.
3.
4.
Thank you for your guesses and nobody will be ridiculed for your answers, honest!
1. Definitely Kralik - but my answer is based on Iris millefiori decor, rather than mold.
Others are beyond me. I find this line of enquiry fascinating. I wish you had included the circular flower motif often seen in Welz decors, and then I could have scored another point!
No idea, so I will guess via google......?? and be different....LOL
1. Kralik
2. Ingrid Lapis
3. Frankart glass shade
4. .... I have NO clue
