    Rattletrap

While hunting for some signs and gas pumps near El Paso this week we found this cool plane on poles being used as a sign to attract attention like we do at aaaLakeside Storage in Provo. We got the idea many years ago from an old gas station/garage in Salt Lake City by the airport and then saw this cool WWII fighter on the building in Washington and loved the idea. As an old Billboard sign guy I learned that sometimes Bigger is Better. I love Planes on buildings/poles. There aren't many of these old planes around anymore. The one in Everett Washington we show in this pix is no longer there.

The first pic is a D18 Beechcraft. My Navy squadron decommissioned the last one owned by the USN. It looks like it is now being used as a simulator for skydivers. Needs a trampoline on the ground !

Thought it looked real familiar. Kept up 2 Beech 18's for a U.S. Mail run for some yrs..

Thx for the good info. All I knew was that it was a very cool plane on poles and made me turn off the Interstate to go see it.

      Trey,
U are sort of the Guru of all Collectors we know and seem to find more stuff and better stuff than any person out there. Not sure how your feisty wife handles your obsession with signs?

She tries to tell me to pace myself LOL , but how can I when I'm always on the hunt and got Pickers hunting too:)

      Trey,
"Pace yourself"? Hmmmm? What exactly might that mean to a guy who is OCD? Sounds like a mystery phrase to me? The way I "pace myself" is by what I can turn up. It's strictly about ability to locate stuff that's hard to find. Mostly finding stuff paces us. Mystery words?
