Found this nice space heater for sale in our local "ebay". It was pretty beat up, the heater was not working, so I decided to "rat rod" it as it looks like a hot rod front grill.

I sanded almost all the original paint, polished the front and back cast aluminum grills, feet and handle, replaced the original power cord with a modern, grounded one, fixed the heater element and voilá...now it heats my bathroom! I love its mix of Art Deco and 1950s Streamline style.

This is a Comfortair Model 11A, made by Mimar Products Inc. in the late 1940s / early 1950s. Mimar Products was founded in 1944 in Brooklyn, NY. It's a 1320 Watts, 11,5 Amps unit.

I love it! You did a super job. I would love to have my entire house done up in 1950s. My family comes from Brooklyn.... :-)))))

Love the frontal shape, much like a car radiator. I would have thought the climate would have been too warm for this beauty. Love the small size to fit in your stunning bathroom, you just have the best of taste, my friend !~

Thank you Efesgirl! I love the 30s and early 40s, but can't resist a cute thingy like this fan!

Hey Phil, thanks! Winter is coming and I live in Sao Paulo, which is a very cold city in July and August so I ran to make this baby work again :)

Nicefice, I would love to see yours my friend. Hope you rat-mod yours too! I am thinking about adding some rust to it to make it perfect LOL Thank you for the double-love :)

Super job on this little Comfortair. I have the exact same one with the original cloth electrical cord. The seam that connects the front and back has a thin strip of chrome. The heater still works on mine but it certainly draws lots of electricity - like a toaster. Again - nice job - looks great!
