Hello, thank you for looking at my item! I was wondering if anyone knew any information about it? I love to collect honey and bee things! My family owned a honey shop and my Dad had a honey bee farm and harvested our own honey to sell at our shop when I was a little girl. My love for all things related to bees and honey have continued to grow and to this day I enjoy collecting. I purchased this item off Ebay for $33.00 USD It was listed as a Bee watering Feeder. It is in excellent condition. Its roughly 6" tall and 3 1/2 " wide, clear glass (it came dirty and I never cleaned it) the neck it not level, on the top it has embossed, "QUEEN BEE FEEDER, E.E.BRUCE & Co, OMAHA NEB." on the back it has, "FLUID OUNCES" with once lines marked 1-8, it has bubbles in the glass & is clear in color. That's all I know. I'd love to know how old it may be or if its a nursing bottle or if its actually for feeding bees water? I wonder also what it may be worth? I'd love any additional history or information regarding this piece! thanks for looking at my item! :)

      You feed bees water ?
    2. Hjmcfarland, 8 years ago
Well not directly lol. But bees do need water and they will go to the nearest source from their hives. In the Southern California desert where we had our bee farm my dad used to put watering systems out for the bees. So yes in a way... You "feed"/supply bees with water when necessary ;)

It is an old baby's bottle, for milk. A rubber teat would be put on the opening.

They made it to look like a floppy boob ? LOL !!

It is a baby bottle of one of the typical late 1800s and early 1900s designs.
It no longer has its rubber nipple, which rarely survives.
Your example I can tell was dug out of the ground at some point and is a very interesting one by that name.

Thank you everyone for clearing up the mystery; Baby bottle it is! I just started adding jars to my bee & honey collections 3 years ago and am still learning/have a lot to learn. The "floppy boob" comment cracked me up! (Glad someone else other than myself has a sense of humor). I'm gonna let this piece go since it's not something I want to collect (now that I know what it is). Thanks again!
