I believe this ring to be a early art and craft ring circa 1900. I would dearly love to know who made this beautiful ring. I've looked through photos and I believe it is probably British art and crafts. The is ring unmarked, for either gold or silver but as been tested for both. The main body of the ring is rectangular with a split shank joining it to the band, which as a twisted rope pattern running down the centre. The main body is made up of silver leaves and berries with four distinctive gold flowers, unfortunately one of the leaves is missing. The citrine stone is faceted and set in a raised mount with six prong claws, between the claws are six decorative swirls.
Any help with this would be much appreciated.
Many thanks for looking

I would agree, this is an arts and craft ring. So beautifully made, and I looked through many, many pictures. I had to stop sometimes to drool, and stare! I think this is my favourite jewellery period.

Ha, Jean, you got this beautiful ring!!!

I wondered if the maker could be identified, as the construction is very particular, with the decorative swirls on the citrine setting, and the tiny rings on the flowers petals.

Hopefully Jewels1900, Paul or BelleEpoque will have a clue!

K, I don't think its that old nor English, This look to be a Vintage Black Hills Gold/Silver Birthstone Citrine Ring.

    Here I is......

This does look like typical early 1900s jewelry. This one is somewhat similar:

    http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/+/http:/www.britishhallmarkingcouncil.gov.uk/publications/hallmarks2.pdf

UK standards require that all jewelry slated for sale to the public must be hallmarked. So, if this was made in the UK then it could have been created for a private buyer. Difficult to say!

A beautifully made and beautiful ring Jean. The mount is spectacular, and I love the cut of the citrine. A great addition to your split shank rings!

I'm thinking Jean, maybe you outbid me on this ring! I'm not sure of the maker. It's very well made though. The contrasting gold wirework & elevated mount are particularly nice.

Hi Jewels1900, I was thinking Artificer Guild. I'm sorry for outbidding you. I hope your keeping well.
